"You should sit in meditation for twenty minutes every day – unless you’re too busy; then you should sit for an hour.” – Zen Proverb Self care is something very important to me. It's something that can easily be pushed at the end of my to do list when juggling multiple roles of being a parent, partner, daughter, employee, and student. However, when I actually put an effort to taking care of myself I really notice the difference it can make.

Taking time out for self care can have a significant impact on our overall well-being. It can help us to become more resilient, reduce stress, and improve our mental health. By prioritizing ourselves and our needs, we are better equipped to handle the challenges and demands that come with our different responsibilities.

The past few months have been particularly challenging for me, and I knew that it was even more important to schedule time for myself. That's when I came across an ad for a full moon circle and mindfulness hike offered by Wevolve Counseling and Advisory Services (https://www.facebook.com/psychologistboekhoudt/) Without giving it a second thought, I signed up.

Taking part in this activity felt like a breath of fresh air. We were encouraged to share, release negative thoughts and things holding us back, and did some meditation. It was an incredible experience that left me feeling rejuvenated and grounded.

Pampering ourselves should never be seen as selfish or indulgent. Rather, it is a way to recharge our batteries, and nurture our physical, emotional, and mental needs. By incorporating self care into our daily lives, we are better equipped to deal with whatever life throws our way.

Self care should be an essential aspect of leading a healthy and fulfilling life. Allowing us to become better versions of ourselves. It should not be seen as a luxury, but as important as brushing our teeth. After all, we all deserve to be pampered from time to time!
